Coach development is key to the success of performance and participation. Drawing on the excellent coach education programme offered by Leeds Rhinos, we are now providing a local opportunity to learn from some of the most experienced performance netball coaches, Anna Carter and Maggie Birkinshaw.

Fri 2oth April 7 – 9pm Kirkstall Rugby Ground – Rare opportunity to listen to two national selectors about spotting and developing athletes. Anna Carter who has been a Roses Academy selector which focuses on England Selection for players from u17’s, u19’s and u21’s, followed by Maggie Birkinshaw who is a Roses Selector focusing on what makes a world class player and how is selection determined when you are working with the world’s best athletes. Also Chev Walker, the well regarded Rhinos Rugby talent ID manager.
Fri 27th April 7 – 9pm Gateways – Defence workshop for coaches – led by Maggie Birkinshaw and focusing on man on man defence; going off the ball; centre pass defence and defending the last third. Supported by a Superleague player or a Roses Academy player.
Fri 25th May 7 – 9pm Gateways – S&C Workshop for coaches – led by Anna Carter and Rhinos Academy S&C coach Sarah Whitehead, who has also supported an elite netball squad in Australia. This workshop will focus on what makes good strength and conditioning for athletes at a range of levels, a variety of warm up activity, robustness activities, sprint activities and general practises to improve your athletes’ performance on court.
